Marriage Requirements

Getting married in Saint Lucia couldn't be easier because there is no residency period. You can apply for a marriage license two days before the date of marriage at a fee of US$125, or the same day for a higher fee of US$200. Standard documentation is required:

• Passport, Birth certificate & decree absolute (if one of the parties is divorced)
• A death certificate of first spouse (in the case of a widow/widower
• A deed poll (if the name has been changed)
• A sworn affidavit of consent stamped by a Notary Public if one of the parties is under age 18
• An authenticated translation if required documents are not in English

Many of the hotels have dedicated wedding coordinators whose sole aim is to make your day run as smoothly and as stress-free as possible. They are happy to organize the music, catering, cake, flowers, and even Best Man if needed! Wedding and honeymoon packages are also available at the hotels, which can include fruit and flower baskets on arrival, commemorative champagne glasses, a sunset catamaran cruise or a private candlelit dinner on a secluded beach.
